Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to improve your experience at The Rowdy Ladybug. WordPress and Etsy make it possible for sellers to use Google Analytics to record and analyze data: on our visitors, where they came from, and their digital behavior in our store. All of those reports are “anonymized and aggregate,” which means they follow groups of shoppers anonymously–they do not (and cannot) reveal to us any personally identifiable information about you.

Along with the standard operations in Google Analytics, I use their “Advertising Reporting Features.” This gives me anonymized, aggregate reports that include data from any Google advertising cookies that are hanging out in your browser. Again, I cannot access personally identifiable information at any time through these reports.

This information helps me to understand my visitors better as a whole, and to improve the products I offer you, and to keep my shop competitive. Data is stored indefinitely, to help me compare traffic from one year to the next.

You can manage your Google Ad Settings and opt-out from this service here: www.google.com/settings/ads/

How We Protect Your Information

We do our best to protect your sensitive personal information. We protect it by partnering with MailerLite, Etsy, and PayPal to collect information and process payment information, using secure information collection and transfer protocols.

Why We Collect It, How We Share It & How Long We Keep It

We collect this information so we can better serve you by creating content and products that you love. The information collected is only shared with our trusted third-party partners when necessary to serve you. We will keep your data for no longer than is necessary. If you choose to unsubscribe from our mailing lists, we will delete your information as soon as we can.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you shop with us on Etsy

If you make purchases on Etsy, I encourage you to view my shop privacy policy (and other policies) here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheRowdyLadybug?ref=seller-platform-mcnav#policies

Etsy also has a policy on cookies and tracking technology, which you may read here: https://www.etsy.com/legal/cookies-and-tracking-technologies

In general, when you order from me on Etsy, I do receive your contact information (such as your name, email address, postal address, payment information, and product details).

The information you provide me is shared only with Etsy, the shipping carrier (usually USPS), PayPal (if used for checkout and/or shipping labels), and my workshop helpers (e.g. for customized orders) only as absolutely necessary. The records of your transaction only remain accessible to me through Etsy; I do not download or store this information in any form, except as indicated above.

To comply with laws, I may collect, use, retain, and share your information ONLY if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.

I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described above in my Privacy Policy. However, I may also be required to retain this information to comply with my legal and regulatory obligations (such as product recalls), to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. I generally keep your data for 7 years.

Where we send your data

Email and other contact information collected through MailerLite will be shared only with us. We do not sell or share our customers’ email addresses with other parties. Other information collected is only shared with or processed by our trusted third-party partners (MailerLite, Etsy, and PayPal) when necessary to serve you. We do not receive, process, or retain any credit card or other secure payment information from these partners.

Visitor comments (where enabled) may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
